What is socio-chemistry? A pure invention, this discipline opens up a world of possibilities. Artists and students have explored this new field of study through research-creation residencies. Imagining a collaboration between social sciences and natural sciences offers an opportunity to rethink these fields and uncover unexpected pathways.
From 2022 to 2024, the GREB, the LLio, and the Musée du Bas-Saint-Laurent organized residencies at the Fabbulle fablab at the Cégep de Rivière-du-Loup. In each session, an artist, students, and representatives from the GREB, the LLio, and the museum reflected on socio-chemistry. Each residency resulted in the creation of an artwork inspired by the discussions.
The results are showcased at the Musée du Bas-Saint-Laurent. The exhibition does not provide a concrete answer but invites reflection and participation.
