Event Details

The Department of Computer Science and Operations Research (DIRO) at the University of Montreal is organizing its famous Hackathon, an event where CEGEP students are invited to an intensive programming session.

It’s an opportunity to learn more about the university and meet DIRO faculty and students. You’ll also get to meet participants from other CEGEPs who share your passions.

Members of the winning teams will share scholarships to DIRO’s Bachelor of Computer Science or Bachelor of Mathematics and Computer Science programs: $2,500/person for the 1st team, $2,000/person for the 2nd team, and $1,500/person for the 3rd team. These scholarships are conditional on admission and enrollment in the above-mentioned programs. Other prizes will be awarded during this event thanks to our sponsors.

This year, the challenge will consist of several small, diverse computer puzzles. Each small puzzle will represent a field of computer science at DIRO and will have several levels of difficulty (from easy to… almost impossible). This fun challenge will require a lot of coordination within your team to accumulate as many points as possible. A balance will have to be found between optimally solving one puzzle and exploring several puzzles.

Come experience the DIRO Hackathon at the University of Montreal!
